Luminous Reflections – Aqualens in Moscow
In 2015, my Aqualens Sphere Fountain found a striking home in the Crocus City Mall in Moscow. This installation features a 2-foot sphere resting in a 6-foot stainless-steel dish, positioned at the heart of a beautifully maintained topiary garden that forms the mall’s central focal point.
The Aqualens captures the surrounding architecture with a quiet, sculptural presence — its mirrored surface reflecting the geometric symmetry of the space and the play of light from the vaulted glass ceilings above. The result is a composition of balance and luminosity: soft natural daylight cascading through the roof and gliding across the polished sphere, creating a serene contrast to the bustle of the shopping galleries.
This project exemplifies the versatility of the Aqualens design — equally at home in open gardens and refined interior courtyards, where light and reflection can transform a public space into something contemplative and alive.
