Steel Eye
The Steel Eye is a bold and timeless sculpture that transforms its surroundings into part of the artwork itself. With its mirror-polished stainless steel form and striking open center, it invites viewers to see the world through a new lens.

The Steel Eye is one of Allison Armour’s most striking and widely exhibited works, celebrated in galleries worldwide for its visual and experiential impact. The standard design measures 6 feet (2 meters) in diameter, though it can be custom fabricated in various sizes to suit different settings.
The sculpture is formed from two stainless steel lenses, joined to create the shape of a giant eye and set on a stable base. At its center, an open eye hole invites viewers to look through, play with perspective, and experience unique reflective and acoustic effects.
Crafted from mirror-polished 316 stainless steel, the Steel Eye’s surface reflects its surroundings with ever-changing clarity—sky, garden, architecture, and people become part of the artwork itself. This versatility allows the piece to transform seamlessly across environments, whether as a bold focal point in a landscape or a commanding presence in a gallery.
A perfect balance of form, reflection, and interaction, the Steel Eye captures the spirit of contemporary sculpture while remaining timeless in its simplicity.
“Her water features never fail to add a unique sense of calm and tranquillity to even the busiest of city gardens.”
